The Aluminum Association Releases New Edition of 'Teal Sheets'
International Alloy Designations and Chemical Composition Limits for
Wrought Aluminum and Wrought Aluminum Alloys
ARLINGTON, Va., March 26, 2009 - (News Release)
— The Aluminum Association is pleased to announce the 2009 edition
of International Alloy Designations and Chemical Composition Limits for
Wrought Aluminum and Wrought Aluminum Alloys is now available. The
34-page newly revised publication, popularly known as the "Teal
Sheets,” supersedes the current 2006 edition.
New in this edition is information on 23 new alloy designations and
their associated chemical composition limits including the calculated
densities of the registered alloys. Additionally, the
document has been reformatted to expand the table of composition limits
to include additional elements for which limits are registered but which
were previously listed in footnotes. This overhaul improves
readability, facilitates viewing of the composition limits of any
specific alloy at one glance, and eliminates proliferation of
footnotes.
This document is the defining source for the international
designations and the associated chemical composition limits for wrought
aluminum and wrought aluminum alloys referenced in numerous standards
and specifications worldwide. It contains close to 500
designations and chemical composition limits for wrought aluminum and
wrought aluminum alloys registered with The Aluminum Association
internationally, a table of the nominal densities for the registered
alloys, and a list of previously registered but currently inactive alloy
designations.
To purchase a hard copy of the registration record visit the
Association’s online bookstore at www.aluminum.org/bookstore.
The price is $20.00 for members and $40.00 for non-members. The
Association accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express cards.
The document can also be downloaded for free at www.aluminum.org/TealSheets.
