 PRESS RELEASE: Charleston Aluminum Hires New Chief Operating Officer and Key Industry Sales ManagerGASTON, S.C., March 9, 2009 - (News Release) – Charleston Aluminum LLC, a growing and successful master distributor and service center for metal products, is pleased to announce the hiring of Dean Blakeney as their Chief Operating Officer, and in addition Donald Strick to their sales management team. Dean Blakeney joins Charleston from another industry metals service center Clinton Aluminum & Stainless, where he was until recently their CEO. Previously, Blakeney also served as the General Manager of Corus Aluminum in North America from 2000 through 2007. Prior to that, he was working in various leadership roles in Denso, a large Japanese automotive components supplier in Great Britain. Blakeney is a mechanical engineer from the City & Guilds of London, and he holds an MBA from the University of Huddersfield in Yorkshire, England. “Charleston Aluminum is already on a very successful growth path, and is well positioned in the industry to benefit from the current service center industry inventory reduction phase, as they have a wide range of available inventory and great customer service” said Dean Blakeney. “I am excited to join forces with the existing management team, to help them develop their business and take the company to the next level”.
