Kevin Person to Succeed Paul May as CEO of Wagstaff

SPOKANE, Wash., May 3, 2011 - (News Release) - Paul May, current Chief Executive Officer of Wagstaff, Inc., has announced his retirement from Wagstaff, Inc. effective May 18, 2011. Kevin Person, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer. Lee Swartling, Area Sales Manager for Russia, Romania and Ukraine, will become Vice President of Sales and Marketing upon Paul’s retirement.
 
Paul, who will be 65 years old in 2011, has a total of 30 years’ service in various roles at Wagstaff, most recently as CEO. Upon earning his degree from the University of Idaho in mechanical engineering in 1969, Paul began the first of two tenures at Wagstaff, serving in the engineering and sales departments. In 1978, Paul became Plant Manager and served in that role until leaving Wagstaff in 1990. In 2002, Paul returned for his second tour with Wagstaff, and has served in the role of CEO since 2007.
 
Kevin Person graduated with a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Washington and joined Kaiser Aluminum where he worked in numerous positions at Kaiser’s Mead, Ghana, Ravenswood and Trentwood facilities. He was recruited to Wagstaff in 1998 as an Applications Engineer and served as Applications Engineering Manager before becoming the VP of Sales and Marketing in 2006.

Lee Swartling has more than 35 years’ experience in the aluminum industry and has served as Wagstaff’s Area Sales Manager for Russia since 1999. Lee has worked for Kaiser Aluminum in various locations including Tacoma, Ghana, Newark, and the Primary Technology Sales organization in Spokane. Lee holds a degree in metallurgical engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
