Aluminum Association Partners with High School Tennis Player to Help Local Charities Through Recycling

ARLINGTON, Va., March 9, 2010 (News Release) — The Aluminum Association’s Cans for Causes Program is excited to assist high school student Makela Rae Toth to kick off a recycling program this spring.  The program will be called, “It's all about LOVE, The perfect match.”  LOVE stands for Lets Offer Victims Extra and this Aynor, South Carolina resident says she has always felt a responsibility to recycle and had an urge to give back.

“I have always had a special interest in recycling,” said Toth.  “I want to be as kind to our planet as I can, but I also have an interest in helping the needy.  I am an avid tennis player.  I have played tennis tournaments locally and statewide and noticed the large amount of cans, bottles and tennis ball cans generated from players and fans.  I am starting this program to collect and recycle these items and raise money for charities in my community.”

CANS for CAUSES is a domestic program sponsored by the Aluminum Association to support organizations in their recycle efforts by providing free bin and bin liners.  For more information visit www.aluminum.org.
