Aluminum Association Recognizes America Recycles Day

ARLINGTON, Va., November 10, 2010 (News Release) — The Aluminum Association is proud to recognize America Recycles Day, Monday, November 15. Now in its 13th year, America Recycles Day is the only day dedicated to raising awareness of recycling and its positive contributions on the world. This day encourages the public to get involved and better educated, with a variety of recycling activities being held across the U.S.

“We are proud to recognize America Recycles Day,” said President Steve Larkin. “This is a day where communities come together to support recycling and promote aluminum as the most sustainable and recyclable automotive, packaging and construction material in today’s market. It is a great opportunity to help educate others about the work we promote everyday.”

Quick facts about recycling aluminum:

·    A recycled aluminum beverage can is able to be back on the shelf in as little as 60 days.
