February's Annual Rate of Primary Aluminum Production Up 0.2 Percent
Over January; YTD Up 17.1 Percent
The annual rate of U.S. primary aluminum production totaled 2,111,770
metric tons during February 2012, an increase of 0.2 percent over the
January annual rate of 2,107,251, according to figures released
by the Aluminum Association. February's rate was 16.1 percent over
year-earlier levels.
Actual production for the month of February 2012 totaled 167,326
tons.
The year-to-date annual rate of production through February 2012
stands at 2,109,435 tons, up 17.1 percent over the 2011 year-to-date
rate of 1,801,195 tons.
