CANS for CAUSES Begins January 1, 2009

The Cans for Habitat program, a partnership between The Aluminum Association and Habitat for Humanity will be ending, effective on December 31, 2008. This program may be ending, but the excitement to boost recycling efforts across the country is just beginning!

The Aluminum Association is officially introducing our CANS for CAUSES program, which will begin January 1, 2009. CANS for CAUSES is designed to support ALL organizations in their effort to recycle. CANS for CAUSES will be a resource tool for groups like Habitat for Humanity, Schools, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Lions Club, Rotary Clubs, YMCAs, Hospitals, College and Universities, PTAs, etc.

Here's a brief overview: After you register for the new program, The Aluminum Association will provide recycling bins and help find recycling centers closest to you. Organizations will then be responsible for taking all cans to their drop-off centers and collecting the money. These funds will belong to the individual organization and can be distributed however they wish to spend the money.

***MORE PROGRAM INFORMATION COMING SOON***

~We have enjoyed our partnership with Habitat for Humanity and we are proud of all the program has achieved. We are changing paths simply to accomodate all organizations. We hope Habitat for Humanity affiliates will continue to place their bin orders through CANS for CAUSES and allow us to continue providing the recycling support needed for a successful future.~

For now, bin orders can still be placed by calling Dennis Workman at 703-358-2977 or email dworkman@aluminum.org.

Feel free to contact The Aluminum Association with questions.

Mandi Gustafson, 703-358-2976 or mgustafs@aluminum.org.
