The Environmental Protection Agency has issued a favorable interpretive guidance letter on the emission regulations for primary aluminum potline startups.

Association Joins Coalition in Opposing OSHA Bill

The Aluminum Association joined the Coalition for Workplace Safety in opposing House Bill 5663, the Miner Safety and Health Act of 2010. The bill, while primarily addressing issues with mine safety, would result in the most sweeping changes to the Occupational Safety and Health Act since its inception.

Aluminum Association Looks to Cooperate with Indian Counterparts

Aluminum Association staff met with Aluminium Association of India (AAI) Secretary General K.S.S. Murthy at Association headquarters July 13 to discuss areas of mutual interest. In particular, the groups continue to explore the possibility of the AAI's participation in the Association's standards and statistical-reporting programs.
