Today's students are tomorrow's recyclers. Help them help the environment by teaching them the importance of recycling aluminum cans. It's good for the environment, the community, and for the future.
Ways to make recycling fun:
Hold a can contest to see which student can bring in the most empty cans
(winner gets a small prize). The cans can then be taken to a local recycling
center or donated to a charity like Habitat
for Humanity. Teach recycling and doing good for others at the
same time!
Take the students on a field trip to a local recycling center or sorting
facility. They are usually willing to conduct tours and teach the kids how
items are processed and where they go after that.
Begin a pledge program where students pledge to recycle at home. They take
a form home for parents to sign stating that they helped recycle. Each day
they help is worth a check-mark. The student with the most check-marks at the
end of the week/month/school year wins a small prize.
