Aluminum Cans Recognized As Superior Beverage Packaging By Bevnet.Com’s Best Of 2012 Awards

ARLINGTON, VA.
Today, the Aluminum Association congratulated four beverage companies using aluminum packaging that were recognized by BevNET.com’s “Best of 2012” product awards. Selected from a pool of nearly 300 new products, line extensions and brand updates, categories included Best Functional Product and Best Product Revamp. BevNET.com is the world’s leading beverage-oriented media company.

Aluminum can products were featured in four of the fifteen product categories, including:

  • Best Energy Drink: Hiball Energy
  • Best Relaxation Drink: Just Chill
  • Best Carbonated Soft Drink: Guayaki Sparkling Yerba Mate
  • Best Coconut Water: Harmless Harvest

The BevNET panel specifically cited Hiball Energy’s decision to move from glass packaging to a “cold-activated” aluminum can as a reason for its selection.

“It’s great to see the packaging benefits of aluminum recognized by the industry through BevNET,” said Stephen Gardner, Vice President of Communications at the Aluminum Association. “More and more beverage manufacturers are moving to aluminum for its functionality, light weight and environmental sustainability.”
