Building and Construction

Thanks to its durability, beauty, high strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance and desirable thermal properties, aluminum has been used for building and construction since the 1920s. Today, aluminum is recognized as one of the most energy efficient and green construction materials – making buildings sustainable without sacrificing style or design.

The Building & Construction committee works to maintain and expand aluminum’s reputation as the sustainable material of choice for building applications. The committee’s primary work includes technical and sustainability research, stakeholder engagement and market promotion.

Current membership includes: Hydro, Jupiter Aluminum, JW Aluminum, Novelis and Rio Tinto.
