Aluminum Built a Museum

Colonel Scott Willey of the Air and Space museum, who gave a private tour to the Association’s Technical Committee on Product Standards, said “Without aluminum, we wouldn’t have a museum.” From the top of the Donald D. Engen Observation Tower at the Udvar-Hazy Center –part of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum - visitors have a 360-degree bird's-eye view of Washington Dulles International Airport.  It’s a place to view aluminum in action: making human flight possible.

The Aluminum Association has finalized the 2013 edition of Aluminum Standards and Data. The first update in more than four years, Aluminum Standards and Data 2013 is the preeminent reference for aluminum mill product standards and the most complete source of information on wrought aluminum.

The Aluminum Association completed registration of one international wrought alloy designated 2824 and tentative temper registration of 2065-T84 Extrusion.  In addition, temper 7250-T7451_Plate was deactivated.
