We talk a lot at the Aluminum Association about how aluminum is helping automakers innovate with some of the strongest, safest, most efficient vehicles on the road. In fact, we have an entire organization, the Aluminum Transportation Group, whose central mission it is to help us tell this story.
Recently, we partnered with former NASA astronaut Dan Tani (he went on a mission to the International Space Station back in 2001 – seriously, check it out) on a series of videos about how today’s aluminum producers are pushing the boundaries on fuel economy, safety, strength and life cycle energy savings.
Did you know the Bradley Fighting Vehicle and other military vehicles make heavy use of aluminum armor?
Or that every aluminum-bodied vehicle ever tested received a perfect 5-star government safety rating?
How about the 18 gigatons of global CO2 emissions that could be reduced by putting more aluminum-intensive vehicles on the road?
