Committee Highlights

Environmental Affairs

Sustainability is at the core of the aluminum industry and aluminum producers recognize that regulations should balance promoting economic growth and protecting our environment.

The Environmental Committee works to maintain and improve the environmental license to operate for aluminum production, remelt and fabrication. The committee monitors environmental regulatory activity at the federal and key state level and works to inform policymakers and regulators about the industry and its environmental performance, compliance, and improvement. Membership in the committee is open to any Association member with much of the air and water regulatory engagement being carried out through voluntary workgroups focused on these areas.

Associate Members

Associate members of the Aluminum Association provide products and services that are extremely valuable to the aluminum production process. Through the Associate Member committee, these companies work to find synergies between producers and suppliers that utilize Associate Member products and services to better promote the sustainability and growth of the aluminum industry.
