Aluminum Week: U.S., Mexico Working Together to Combat Unfair Aluminum Trade

Big news on the trade front this week as the White House announced a joint agreement with Mexico to combat the impact of unfairly traded aluminum in North America. Under the plan, aluminum products smelted and cast in BelarusChinaIran and Russia will no longer be permitted to enter the United States under the Section 232 exemption that Mexico enjoys as part of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). By working with our fellow USMCA countries on strong trade enforcement, we can help drive continued growth and investment in the region – creating jobs and capturing increased demand expected in the coming years.

Aluminum Carbon Footprint Cut in Half Over 30 Years

A third-party, critical-reviewed life cycle assessment (LCA) report found that the carbon footprint of aluminum production and recycling in North America was cut in half since 1991.
