Aluminum Week: Association CEO to CNBC -- Gulf Impacts Significant, Industry Adjusting
Aluminum Association President & CEO Charles Johnson joined CNBC’s Morning Call this week to discuss how the conflict with Iran is impacting aluminum industry supply chains. Gulf Cooperation Council countries represent 9% of global primary aluminum supply (and around 20% of U.S. imports) so the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and attacks on Gulf state aluminum infrastructure, is having an impact. “The Gulf is a major concern for our industry,” said Johnson. “What that means back here in the United States is that American producers are adjusting.”
